Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, creates and implements manufacturing and/or business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, reduce work in process and improve the quality, cost and delivery performance of Abbott
  • Completes capacity analysis internally and/or at suppliers for headcount, equipment and space requirements using simulation software or other effective tools
  • Identifies opportunities and drives incorporation of appropriate Lean tool usage such as 5S, time study, line balancing, standard work, material flow and value stream mapping, process mapping and Kaizen event into the daily functions of continuous improvement
  • Implements and maintains effective metrics with internal customers
  • Participates as a core member in cross-functional teams to quickly troubleshoot and eliminate product supply issues internally or at suppliers
  • Makes recommendations to teams, which drive higher yielding, lower cost, more manufacturable products using financial analyses tools and recommends alternative courses of action
  • Convinces internal customers to make fundamental changes to their manufacturing and/or business processes based on data, simulated scenarios, and financial impact analysis
  • Analyzes, designs, and implements manufacturing and business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, reduce work-in-process, and improve process flow and efficiency across manufacturing, design, supplier development, documentation, and Abbott suppliers
  • Incorporates Shingo principles, Six-Sigma methodology, lean manufacturing, theory of constraints, quick response manufacturing, Just-In-Time, Methods-Time Measurement, or other systems improvement philosophies in projects
  • Creates strong relationships with team members internal and external to Abbott to ensure project success
