Requirements

  • Apply exceptional HR expertise as part of the Employee Relations team
  • Possess outstanding technical skills relating to mediation, critical incident management, organization intervention, and forward-thinking results
  • Work with minimal oversight from an ER manager
  • Use data to drive decisions and recommendations
  • Exercise significant authority to decide on employment actions, including termination
  • Understand the employee handbook and interpret/counsel on it
  • Leverage credibility and exercise influence to work collaboratively with other HR Centers of Excellence
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and expertise to independently identify alternatives, resolutions, and/or solutions

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality and effective employee relations solutions to a specialized and complicated line of business
  • Resolve problems, address and assist in the investigation of employee and regulatory complaints
  • Coach managers and employees to achieve resolution of issues
  • Ensure uniform and equitable application of organization policies and procedures while adhering to regulations
  • Provide enterprise-wide ER solutions through consulting with senior leaders, managers, and employees on complex issues
  • Serve as a specialized subject matter expert on employee relations matters with significant impact to the business
  • Participate in, and often lead, senior level HR and talent-related projects and initiatives
  • Independently drive buy-in for business-line related initiatives and shepherd them to completion
  • Deliver independent decisions and counsel to managers and employees
  • Identify and analyze employee relations matters and recommend appropriate employment action
  • Administer the Bank’s Performance Expectations and Corrective Action Policy, accelerating as appropriate
  • Oversee termination processes in accordance with Bank practices and prepare documentation
  • Counsel managers on Corrective Action, highlighting legal requirements and ramifications
  • Participate in EEOC/Human Rights/Wage and Hour regulatory complaints and represent the Bank at hearings and meetings
  • Receive complaints, conduct investigations, assist the Investigations Team, recommend and resolve problems, and counsel employees
  • Counsel employees on conduct issues, disputes, financial problems, illness, disability, and performance matters
  • Facilitate dispute resolutions
  • Conduct presentations and trainings on employee relations topics
  • Support, develop, revise, and oversee training programs on Bank policy, sexual harassment, legal issues, performance management, etc
  • Support exit interview process, including analyzing results and follow-up
  • Interpret inquiries regarding Bank policies and procedures and report policy issues
