Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science program (preferred)
  • Extensive experience with RS-485, J1939, and Ethernet communication networks
  • MODBUS, CAN, and TCP/IP communication protocol application experience
  • Diesel genset applications experience (preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of test procedures and test equipment
  • Technical Excellence: Advises others on technical solutions, engages subject matter experts, provides solutions to moderate technical challenges, assumes accountability for technical performance
  • Analytical Thinking: Seeks discrepancies in information, organizes steps to remedy situations, identifies multiple problem causes, quantifies costs/benefits/risks, breaks down complex problems, selects appropriate analytical tools
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of communication concepts, tools, and techniques to transmit, receive, and interpret ideas, information, and needs

Responsibilities

  • Researching new materials and competitive products
  • Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes
  • Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance
  • Overseeing the efforts of drafting and testing specialists
  • Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents
  • Participating in buy-build analysis for product components
  • Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports
  • Responsible for data center customer backup power communication interfacing and Building Management System (BMS) remote monitoring integration
