Requirements

Minimum bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science program (preferred)
Extensive experience with RS-485, J1939, and Ethernet communication networks
MODBUS, CAN, and TCP/IP communication protocol application experience
Diesel genset applications experience (preferred)
Extensive knowledge of test procedures and test equipment
Technical Excellence: Advises others on technical solutions, engages subject matter experts, provides solutions to moderate technical challenges, assumes accountability for technical performance
Analytical Thinking: Seeks discrepancies in information, organizes steps to remedy situations, identifies multiple problem causes, quantifies costs/benefits/risks, breaks down complex problems, selects appropriate analytical tools
Effective Communications: Understanding of communication concepts, tools, and techniques to transmit, receive, and interpret ideas, information, and needs

Responsibilities

Researching new materials and competitive products
Organizing, coordinating, and executing the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes
Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance
Overseeing the efforts of drafting and testing specialists
Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents
Participating in buy-build analysis for product components
Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports
Responsible for data center customer backup power communication interfacing and Building Management System (BMS) remote monitoring integration
