Senior Smart Contract Engineer, Solidity
Chainlink LabsFull Time
Senior (5 to 8 years)
Candidates should have 3+ years of engineering experience, including shipping production protocols with significant TVL. Expert-level Solidity and/or Rust skills and a deep grasp of EVM/SVM internals are required. A strong understanding of gas/compute metering on Ethereum, L2s, and Solana, and how off-chain components interact with contracts is necessary. Candidates must be comfortable owning end-to-end security, including access control, upgradeability, failure-mode analysis, and incident response. Excellent communication skills and experience partnering with frontend, backend, and product teams are also essential. Bonus points for prior experience with AMMs, bridges, MEV/intents systems, consensus algorithms, ZK proofs, fast-finality research, cross-chain messaging standards, or significant open-source contributions.
The Protocol Engineer will design and implement Solidity and Rust smart contracts for the Metalayer protocol across EVM, L2s, and SVM. Responsibilities include owning on-chain security, including role-based access control, pause/upgrade paths, and high-value asset protections. The role involves driving audits by specifying, coordinating, and remediating findings with security firms. Collaboration with relayer, indexer, and frontend teams to define clear, developer-friendly on-chain APIs is expected. The engineer will also build tooling for on-chain monitoring, alerting, and gas/performance profiling, and research and prototype new protocol features such as fast-finality bridges and ZK-verified proofs.
Customizable blockchain rollups for developers
Caldera.xyz creates customizable blockchain rollups that improve the performance and scalability of existing blockchains like Ethereum and Polygon. These rollups allow developers and organizations to deploy applications with high transaction throughput and low fees, while offering features like paying for transaction fees in native tokens or eliminating them altogether. The platform is user-friendly and EVM compatible, making it accessible to a wide range of clients without requiring extensive technical knowledge. Caldera's goal is to optimize blockchain operations for its clients and establish itself as a key player in the blockchain infrastructure market.
