SEAKR Engineering- Full Time
- Senior (5 to 8 years)
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in electric propulsion system design and development. Strong knowledge of electric propulsion technologies, including ion thrusters and Hall-effect thrusters, is essential, along with experience in spacecraft power systems and thermal management. Experience with propulsion system testing and qualification is also required.
The Senior Electric Propulsion Engineer will be responsible for designing electric propulsion system architecture, developing product specifications, and maintaining Technical Performance Metrics (TPMs) including power and mass budgets. They will define placement and integration of an electric propulsion system architecture, document detailed work instructions, and support testing including environmental testing such as vibration, shock, and TVAC. The role also involves establishing engine degradation models, performing filtration analysis, ensuring compliance to propulsion budgets, designing high-pressure fluidic systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate propulsion systems with other spacecraft subsystems. Furthermore, the engineer will troubleshoot anomalies, ensure design for manufacturability, interface with customer/supplier relationships, conduct trade studies, and perform Process Hazard Analyses for safety.
