Requirements

  • Experience leading strategic development and delivery of enterprise workplace safety strategies and programs (occupational safety, process safety management, industrial hygiene, office & road safety, dangerous goods & transportation safety)
  • Ability to obtain alignment and buy-in from cross-functional and sector teams (commercial, supply chain, R&D, procurement, E&PS, finance, legal)
  • Expertise in developing and implementing annual technical plans for regulatory compliance and J&J EHS&S standards to eliminate/control risks and prevent injuries/illnesses
  • Proven collaboration skills with sector EHS teams for troubleshooting, adapting, and deploying safety solutions across businesses
  • Capability to integrate resource and budget needs into sector/functional financial planning
  • Leadership in establishing enterprise governance processes, forums, and oversight for stakeholder alignment and performance visibility
  • Experience leading technical experts engaging with industry associations, trade organizations, and standard-setting bodies for benchmarking and thought leadership
  • Skills in defining/developing enterprise internal/external policies, positions, and standards on workplace safety
  • Partnership experience with digital teams for data collection, analytics, AI-driven improvements, predictive injury prevention, and safety dashboards
  • Knowledge to support health and safety audits within safety management systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of global end-to-end safety strategy and programs across operations and value chain
  • Develop and support implementation of annual technical plans ensuring compliance with regulations and J&J standards
  • Continuously collaborate with sector EHS teams to troubleshoot, adapt, and deploy safety solutions for compliance, risk mitigation, and value creation
  • Partner with sector EHS teams to integrate safety resource/budget needs into financial planning
  • Establish enterprise governance processes and forums for stakeholder alignment, engagement, oversight, and performance visibility
  • Lead a team of technical experts engaging with industry associations and standard bodies for benchmarking and thought leadership
  • Define and develop J&J’s enterprise policies, positions, and standards related to workplace safety
  • Partner with digital team to implement data collection, analytics, AI solutions for continuous improvement and predictive injury prevention
  • Partner with digital team to design safety dashboards tracking performance and supporting governance
  • Support health and safety focus audits as part of the safety management system
