Requirements

Strong background in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure engineering
Deep experience with Azure and AWS cloud environments
Hands-on expertise with monitoring/observability tools (Datadog, Dynatrace, or similar)
Proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code best practices
Solid scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
Familiarity with the VA ecosystem—especially VA Platform One, enterprise GitHub practices, VA.gov standards, or DevSecOps models— is a plus
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage dependencies, and deliver in complex environments
Experience working in Agile development environments
Performs other related duties as assigned

Responsibilities

Drive reliability, observability, and automation across large-scale hybrid cloud environments
Improve uptime, reduce mean time to recovery (MTTR), streamline incident management, and support large-scale cloud migrations
Work across Azure, AWS, and on-prem environments, building resilient infrastructure
Ensure mission-critical applications meet strict availability and performance standards
Develop and maintain monitoring/observability tools and infrastructure-as-code solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues
Implement and manage infrastructure-as-code best practices
Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline processes
Perform other related duties as assigned
