About the Role

As a Senior Mainframe DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving the adoption and execution of DevOps practices within our organization, with a strong emphasis on mainframe environments. This role bridges the gap between traditional mainframe development and modern DevOps methodologies, fostering seamless collaboration and accelerating the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

You will have the opportunity to define, architect, and manage the CI/CD strategy for a diverse and complex ecosystem of software products spanning multiple platforms, with a primary focus on z/OS systems. Your expertise will be crucial in streamlining development workflows, enhancing automation, and ensuring consistent and reliable software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain continuous integration, delivery, and deployment (CI/CD) processes for a complex set of software requirements and products across multiple platforms.
• Receive comprehensive training on existing z/OS product applications and assembly processes, with a focus on developing and implementing CI/CD capabilities tailored for mainframe systems.
• Monitor and manage infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
• Define and set development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application development, deployment, and operations.
• Choose the best tools and technologies that fit business needs.
• Lead platform upgrade, migration, and maintenance independently.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, and utilize them to enhance the software infrastructure.

Qualifications

• BE/BTECH or any other degree in a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant DevOps experience.
• Hands-on experience with various DevOps concepts and tools, including Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) using tools like Git, Jenkins, Artifactory/Nexus.
• Strong knowledge of Shell Scripting and other programming languages such as Python, C, Groovy, Java, YAML.
• Experience working on Linux infrastructure.
• Familiarity with IBM z/OS-based infrastructure is advantageous, particularly in hybrid enterprise environments.
• Experiential learning on Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Hands-on experience with Container & Container Orchestration tools like Docker, AWS ECS, Kubernetes.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience with designing, building, and maintaining cloud-native applications across major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a strong plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, including nearshore and offshore.
