Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience supporting Production environments
  • Cloudflare, AWS and Kubernetes experience
  • Developing experience in any of the following languages: Go, Python, Ruby
  • Experience running Microservices using Linux and Docker technologies, ideally in a Kubernetes platform on AWS
  • Infrastructure as code, like Terraform, Pulumi or AWS Cloud Formation
  • Interest in systems engineering, networking (ideally with Cloudflare), and security administration
  • Mentors others and supports their growth
  • Encourages positive attributes and attitudes in others
  • Sees through complex problems to simple, actionable improvements
  • Works urgently and carefully under pressure
  • Continuously learning new tools and techniques

Responsibilities

  • Implement and Support Udacity Production Platform
  • Innovate in the Engineering Platform space by incorporating new technologies
  • Manage our fleet of cloud services in AWS and Cloudflare
  • Provide support and advice to Developers building new student-facing applications
  • Use configuration management tools to deploy and maintain Udacity products
  • Participate in on-call rotation for production incident response
