Senior Data Visualization Engineer

Employment Type: Full-time Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Pay Range: $80 (This is a partial range and may be higher or lower based on various factors.)


Position Overview

Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first. The Senior Data Visualization Engineer builds user interfaces, visualizations, and data algorithms. This role involves taking complex data and making it more accessible, understandable, and usable for leaders to derive insights and enable better business decisions. Work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of data storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and product thinking. They balance deep analytical rigor with a passion for user-centered design and operational clarity.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead dashboard design and scalable strategy.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders who have identified insight gaps.
  • Champion design standards and lead Humana business intelligence into a more scalable and efficient future state.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering and/or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience performing data analytics and building user interfaces, visualizations, and data algorithms.
  • Advanced Power BI, Tableau, Python, or similar automation and reporting technology skills.
  • Deep familiarity with semantic models, data governance principles, and/or relational database theory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering and/or related field.
  • Background in user research, design thinking, or scalable reporting strategies.
  • Experience with data mining, predictive modeling techniques, and using data to drive business outcomes and decisions.

Work-At-Home Requirements

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required.

Internet Expense Reimbursement: Employees who live and work from Home in the states of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

Equipment: Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Work Environment: Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
