Requirements

Candidates must have 5+ years of data engineering experience, with at least 2 of those years in a data scientist capacity. A strong understanding of Neural Networks, kNN, natural language processing (NLP), and learn-to-rank (LTR) algorithms like LambdaMART, RankNet, and LightGBM is required. Proficiency in Python and machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch, along with experience in handling large datasets, developing scalable data pipelines, and conducting A/B testing, is essential. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is also necessary. Familiarity with MLOps, LLMs, generative AI in search, e-commerce platforms, and user behavior modeling are preferred qualifications.

Responsibilities

The Senior Data Scientist will design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to enhance search relevance, ranking, and personalization for the e-commerce platform. Responsibilities include analyzing large-scale user interaction data, collaborating with engineering teams to integrate ML models into production search systems, and conducting A/B tests to evaluate algorithm performance. The role also involves developing NLP and deep learning models for improved query understanding and categorization, driving innovation in AI-powered search features, and mentoring junior data scientists.
