Requirements

Candidates should possess 5+ years of experience as a data infrastructure or backend-oriented software engineer, with proven experience in designing and maintaining large-scale database solutions. Strong knowledge of database principles, distributed systems, and database management is required, along with experience with both relational (e.g., MySQL, Postgres or MariaDB) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Aerospike, Cassandra, ScyllaDB, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch). Experience with AWS Infrastructure and database products, strong Linux troubleshooting skills, and proficiency in Bash, Python, or Go are also necessary. Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Senior Data Reliability Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and efficient database solutions, leading and mentoring engineers to ensure the seamless operation of database systems, investigating and implementing performance and cost optimizations, creating or introducing tooling and processes to support database maintenance, contributing to continual improvement of the database infrastructure, staying updated with database trends and implementing new offerings as needed, and participating in on-call rotations to ensure database system availability and performance.
