Requirements

The Senior Data Engineer must possess 7+ years of experience in a Data Engineering role, requiring proficiency in Oracle RDBMS, SQL, Data Modeling, ETL processes, and Data Warehousing Design. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent analytical abilities are essential, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. Familiarity with the book industry is desirable, and experience with Microsoft Fabric, PowerBI, Tabular Editor, ALM Toolkit, Spark/Hadoop, Java, or Python coding skills is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

This role involves designing and developing enterprise database solutions, optimizing data storage and retrieval processes, troubleshooting performance issues, implementing data privacy and security measures, participating in cross-functional projects, and contributing to overall data architecture and standards. The Data Engineer will also report daily progress and blockers to the scrum master, curating large bibliographic metadata and book sales measurement data sets, and ensuring compliance with data regulations.
