Candidates must possess a BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, along with over 8 years of hands-on software design and development experience. Proficiency in Python and/or Java development, object-oriented design principles, and at least 2 years of experience with relational databases like MySQL or Postgres are essential. Experience with NoSQL databases (Bigtable, Cassandra, HBase), schema design, data modeling, large-scale distributed data processing, ETL development, distributed messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and distributed computing frameworks (Apache Spark, Flink) is required. Strong communication and articulation skills are also necessary.
The Senior Data Engineer will build scalable data pipelines and services, translate business requirements into development and design tasks, and adhere to engineering best practices and coding standards. They will also collaborate effectively with team members across different departments.
