Position Overview

NerdWallet is seeking a strategic and versatile Senior Copywriter to join our in-house Brand Studio. We aim to make personal finance engaging and accessible through fresh voice, sharp insights, and bold creative. As part of a collaborative creative team, you will craft insightful copy across various channels, including landing pages, emails, digital ads, and social media. This role requires not only strong writing skills but also strategic thinking to shape messaging, bring big ideas to life, and drive business forward. You will partner with creative directors, designers, marketers, and product teams to deliver high-impact work that elevates the brand and achieves results.

Responsibilities

  • Make personal finance enjoyable and accessible, ensuring copy is rooted in strategy and business objectives.
  • Take ownership of projects from concept through execution, managing priorities independently while aligning with brand and business goals.
  • Write and optimize copy across multiple channels, including email, social media, landing pages, and headline-driven placements.
  • Identify learnings from tests and experiments, adjust your approach accordingly, and contribute to individual and team progress.
  • Proactively suggest systems-level improvements that elevate broader content categories, not just individual assets.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships within your immediate team and with partners by sharing knowledge, welcoming diverse perspectives, and giving constructive feedback.
  • Organize and document your work in a clear, reusable format, including copy documents and collaborative tools like Figma.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing and product teams to bring ideas from concept to execution.
  • Manage quick feedback loops in a fast-paced, remote-first environment and seamlessly transition between campaign and internal initiatives.
  • Keep team members and stakeholders informed on project statuses, deadlines, and strategy.

Requirements

  • A Writer: You possess a passion for the writing process, refining your work for smooth flow, substance, voice, and readability.
  • Strategic and Insightful: You are a creative problem solver who can leverage briefs, brand strategy, and user research to guide your work. You are curious, eager to experiment, and proactively identify opportunities to test and improve business metrics. You communicate your ideas clearly, both in presentations and written documentation.
  • Organized: You document your copy in an easily accessible, iterative, and reusable format.
  • Learning Mindset: You are a fast learner, eager to grow your skills and collaborate closely with your manager and peers to evolve the brand and creative output.
  • Excellent Communicator: You are comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels, including cross-functional stakeholders, and can confidently represent the Brand Studio team in meetings and project discussions.
  • Collaborative: You have experience partnering with marketing and product teams from concept to execution and enjoy working closely with other copywriters and designers.
