Headquartered in New York City, Newsweek is looking to enhance loyalty among its unique visitors. The team is seeking a data-driven lifecycle strategist with technical knowledge and a passion for lifecycle marketing and data architecture. This role involves collaborating with content and audience teams to build audience segments and create targeted campaigns. The ideal candidate will be adept at extracting insights from data and understanding key business metrics. A combination of data analysis and email marketing experience is essential, with a focus on maximizing newsletter contributions to audience acquisition and conversion.

Requirements

  • Email Marketing and Automation:
    • 3-5 years of experience in email marketing analysis, CRM marketing, or marketing automation.
    • Solid experience with customer segmentation models, predictive analytics, and utilizing ESP automation tools for workflows, drip campaigns, and lifecycle marketing.
    • Familiarity with ESP-specific languages (e.g., SailThru and its Zephyr language) and experience with API integrations.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Ability to mock up concepts and customize emails using HTML and CSS.
    • Experience with audience tools (CRM or CDP) for user segmentation.
    • Proven ability to build and maintain subscriber databases, manage list hygiene, deliverability, and compliance.
    • Capability to build data pipelines for audience campaigns to nurture and grow segmented and personalized audience journeys.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Experience building reports, managing dashboards, and generating insights from audience data.
    • Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
    • Demonstrated resourcefulness and innovation in data analysis.
  • Campaign Execution:
    • Proven ability to create, execute, and scale acquisition and retention campaigns.
    • Experience with A/B testing campaigns via ESPs and optimizing emails for increased click-through rates.
    • Experience working with AI tools and data feeds for automated campaigns.
  • Design and Teamwork:
    • Basic design capabilities, including mocking up concepts and quick customizations with HTML and CSS.
    • Ability to contribute ideas, hands-on work, and execution within an energetic team environment.
  • Curiosity and Adaptability:
    • High level of curiosity and ability to scale and grow in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: JavaScript and SQL knowledge are a plus. Additional programming languages are also a plus.
  • Teamwork: Strong cross-functional teamwork, problem-solving skills, highly organized, and effective in a team environment.
  • Work Ethic: Proactive, strategic, effective, able to meet tight deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
