Knowledge to oversee defense panelists, including monitoring and evaluating operations and performance
Proficiency in conducting file reviews for accuracy, attending mediations and settlements, and participating in pre-trial calls
Expertise in providing technical guidance for properly setting claim reserves, considering different policy wordings
Ability to report to senior management and underwriters on insurance coverage issues, claims trends, and developments
Competence in investigating insurance coverage issues and claims promptly and thoroughly
Skills in analyzing claims forms, policies, endorsements, client instructions, and other records to determine coverage
Experience interviewing all involved parties in claims investigations
Ability to manage claims in litigation
Proficiency in managing diary for timely and complete tasks to achieve best financial outcomes and resolutions
Capability to identify, assign, and coordinate expert resources for case resolution
Skills in preparing reports for file documentation
Ability to apply creative solutions for optimal financial outcomes
Experience negotiating highly complex settlement packages and setting reserves

Responsibilities

Adjudicate highly complex claims and insurance coverage disputes at the highest authority limits on assignments with high technical complexity and coordination in liability and litigated claims, potentially impacting departmental results
Conduct detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation to find solutions to numerous and undefined issues
Oversee defense panelists, including monitoring and evaluating their operations and performance
Conduct file reviews to ensure accuracy, attend mediations and settlements, and participate in pre-trial calls as necessary
Provide technical guidance in properly setting claim reserves
Report to senior management and underwriters on insurance coverage issues, claims trends, and developments
Investigate insurance coverage issues and claims promptly and thoroughly
Analyze claims forms, policies, endorsements, client instructions, and other records to determine if the loss falls within policy coverage
Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly, including interviewing all involved parties
Manage claims in litigation
Manage diary for timely and complete tasks to ensure cases move to the best financial outcome and timely resolution
Properly set claim reserves, accounting for how different policy wordings impact the process
Identify, assign, and coordinate expert resources to assist in case resolution
Prepare reports for file documentation
Apply creative solutions resulting in the best financial outcome
Negotiate highly complex settlement packages and set reserves
Provide technical support on insurance coverage disputes and major cases in litigation assigned to Adjusters throughout the US
