Requirements
Candidates should have over 6 years of software development experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems, with proficiency in Go, C/C++, or Java. Experience with concurrency, multithreading, distributed system architectures, cloud infrastructure services (preferably Kubernetes), and a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) is required. Strong problem-solving, production debugging skills, and excellent communication are essential, along with a high level of responsibility, ownership, and accountability.
Responsibilities
The Senior Cloud Performance Engineer will benchmark system and database performance, conduct capacity sizing and optimization, and troubleshoot application/server errors. They will recommend configuration tuning for performance bottlenecks, collaborate with core development, cloud, and security teams to enhance ClickHouse Cloud performance, and lead chaos initiatives. Responsibilities include developing and managing tools for chaos experiments, understanding large-scale distributed systems, studying software resilience, and extending the backend to enable Chaos Engineering techniques.
