Candidates should have over 5 years of experience in a high-growth agile software development environment, with a focus on automation and reducing toil. Leadership within the team, expressing candor and curiosity, is expected, along with the ability to operate independently and collaborate effectively across engineering and cross-functional teams. Experience with AWS and AWS services (EC2, RDS, Route 53, VPCs, etc.) and Azure is required, as is a strong understanding of Immutable Infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). Familiarity with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, etc.), best practices for global delivery of cloud-based managed applications (DevOps, SRE, continuous delivery), containerization technology (Docker, ECS, Fargate), Jenkins (CI/CD pipelines), and centralized configuration management tools (Chef, Ansible) is necessary. A passion for continuous improvement and a data-driven culture is also essential, along with experience building and supporting high-performance/high-availability platforms with a microservices architecture.
The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for building, maintaining, scaling, and hardening AWS infrastructure to support current and future platform needs. They will maintain and improve the security posture of Loopio's infrastructure to protect customer data, collaborating closely with InfoSec, Architect, and Engineering teams to find optimal solutions on the AWS platform. Responsibilities include automating manual tasks to allow the team to focus on improving security, evaluating new technologies, and launching new features. The role involves participating in strategic platform and technology decisions, including cost-saving strategies and process improvements. Project-based work will include software upgrades, centralized logging, automated monitoring, automated configuration management, load testing, and exploring alternative tools. Additionally, the engineer will mentor and coach others, provide technical guidance, and support incident response and on-call rotations, improving incident response and disaster recovery processes by simulating failure scenarios.
