Requirements

Candidates must possess a pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy, maintain an active Pharmacist license with the Board of Pharmacy, and complete clinical reviews. Clinical experience in managed care or a related field is preferred, along with BPS Board Certification (BCOP preferred). Six Sigma and/or Project Management Professional certification are also desired.

Responsibilities

The Senior Clinical Pharmacist will monitor the drug development pipeline and medical literature, providing clinical support to internal stakeholders. They will develop, maintain, and operationalize strategies related to utilization management edits and clinical coverage policies, influencing departmental strategy. This role involves participating in Humana’s formulary and Pharmacy and Therapeutics processes, conducting analysis on drug utilization trends, and supporting trend management through cost and utilization analysis. Additionally, they will collaborate on research projects, develop corporate communications, and serve as a clinical subject matter expert, exercising considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
