Requirements

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Environment, Sustainability, or a Climate-related quantitative discipline
Minimum 7 years of experience in a relevant sustainability-driven technical field
Experience working in carbon accounting, LCA (Life Cycle Assessment), PCFs (Product Carbon Footprints), or EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations)
Preference for experience in the metals, minerals, or steel sectors, but also petrochemical or energy sectors
Knowledge of greenhouse gas emissions accounting and reporting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, ISO 14040, ISO 14044, ISO 14067)
Familiarity with GHG disclosure regulations and reporting frameworks (e.g., TCFD, CDP, GRI, SBTi, CSRD, PCAF, EU CBAM)
Experience in science-based target setting and sustainability strategy (beneficial)
Fluency in English (required); additional languages a plus
Must have the right to work in the UK
Willingness to work in the London office at least 3 days a week
A passion for environmental issues and climate action

Responsibilities

Calculating supply chain emissions using customer data inputs, internal systems, and emissions data
Researching carbon emissions data from public and private sources
Preparing product carbon footprints or corporate carbon footprints for customers in the metals and mining, energy, chemicals, and agricultural sectors, and presenting results
Improving CarbonChain’s carbon footprint methodology
Developing, in tandem with the product team, internal data sourcing, processing, and management processes
