Requirements

Candidates should have 7+ years of engineering experience, strong Node.js knowledge, and experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms. Proficiency in Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and databases like Postgres/MySQL, as well as messaging queues such as RabbitMQ/Nats/Kafka, is required. Strong system design, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with hands-on troubleshooting abilities. Experience building internal tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Senior Backend Engineer will contribute to product planning from discovery to deployment, collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new features and APIs, and continuously improve existing products. They will also be responsible for finding and fixing bugs, ensuring customer satisfaction with Deel's products, and working on the edge between DevOps and engineering by enforcing standards, creating tooling, maintaining internal libraries, providing architectural guidance, and owning high-loaded core services. This role involves responding to production incidents when needed, with a focus on engineering tasks and supporting Deel's engineering growth by building a platform for product teams.
