Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in Audit OR Accounting OR Finance OR Capital Markets OR Treasury OR a combination
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in Capital Markets or Capital Markets Compliance
  • Preferred: Experience using G-Suite products
  • Preferred: Coding experience (Python, SQL, etc.)
  • Preferred: Experience demonstrating an understanding of derivatives and mortgage-backed securities
  • Preferred: Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Preferred: Experience creating presentations and explaining complex information to different audiences
  • Risk mindset and experience in Capital Markets Operations, Swap Dealer Requirements, Compliance or Audit
  • Highly dependable, intellectually curious and able to handle pressure

Responsibilities

  • Manage the calculation, collection and posting of variation and initial margin / independent amount for derivative transactions in the Collateral Management System
  • Ensure collateral posted to Capital One by counterparties is maintained in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and legal agreement terms, including appropriate segregation, if applicable
  • Monitor the internal initial margin threshold with each counterparty to ensure we establish swap documentation timely
  • Identify margin discrepancies, manage valuation dispute process and related reporting
  • Recommend and implement process changes to improve operational efficiency and decrease risks
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with key internal and external partners
  • Support all corporate collateral management programs and daily, monthly and quarterly reporting in accordance with internal controls and policies
  • Perform reconciliation of collateral custody accounts
  • Support Internal/External Audit requests
  • Support ad hoc project-related initiatives
