Position Overview

Ada is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Data Analytics team. This role is crucial for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports data analysis and business intelligence. The primary focus will be on delivering clean, transformed data, maintaining data documentation and definitions, and contributing to the semantic layer that enables AI-assisted analytics. The role also involves stretching into analytics by collaborating closely with internal stakeholders in product and Go-To-Market (GTM) teams.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in data analytics/data science, data engineering, analytics engineering, or similar fields.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern cloud data-warehousing technologies.
    • Hands-on experience with query-plan analysis and index design.
    • DBT and Clickhouse experience are a plus.
  • Development Practices: Knowledge of working with development best practices, including Github and CI/CD.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
  • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • BI Platforms: Experience building in BI platforms such as Tableau, Looker, Metabase, or Omni.
  • SaaS Experience: Previous work experience for a SaaS company is considered an asset.
  • AI Aptitude: Adept at leveraging AI to enhance productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data models that reflect business processes and requirements, enabling effective data analysis and reporting.
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards, automating data validation and cleaning to maintain high data integrity.
  • Design, build, and maintain a strong semantic layer with high-quality documentation.
  • Work closely with product teams to ensure high-quality end-user data.
  • Support product and GTM teams with thoughtful analysis and high-quality dashboards.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $106,400 CAD to $137,000 CAD. Actual pay will be determined based on factors such as past experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
