Requirements

  • Expertise in SQL and dbt (dbt Core)
  • Experience with Snowflake data lake
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools like Argo and Prefect
  • Strong data modeling skills to create clean, curated, and organized datasets
  • Engineer's rigor and seasoned data modeler's expertise for complex data problems
  • Ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts, engineers, and product managers
  • Experience bringing engineering best practices (reliability, modularity, test coverage, documentation)
  • US-based for fully remote role

Responsibilities

  • Transform, test, deploy, and document data to deliver clean and trustworthy data for analysis to end-users
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and product managers to identify elegant and effective data structures for evolving business needs
  • Bring engineering best practices (reliability, modularity, test coverage, documentation) to DAGs and the Data team
  • Collaborate with data engineers to build robust, tested, scalable ELT pipelines
  • Perform data modeling: model raw data into clean, tested, and reusable datasets representing key business data concepts; define rules and requirements for data formats and attributes
  • Perform data transformation: build the data lakehouse by transforming raw data into meaningful, useful data elements through joining and filtering
  • Work with Director of Data and Analytics Engineering to define and drive data strategy and best practices as the senior-most individual contributor
