Requirements

  • Proficiency in operating forklifts and pallet riders
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of associate personal/payroll information and supplier procedures
  • Skills in supervising associates, including training, performance evaluations, interviews, hiring recommendations, scheduling, and time/attendance reporting
  • Experience in vendor/customer service, establishing contracts, maintaining data files, ensuring compliance with standards, and evaluating vendor performance
  • Capability to manage department budgets, including data trending, invoice review, expenditure approval, warranty reimbursement, and landlord compliance
  • Up-to-date expertise for providing advice, guidance, and action plans
  • Ability to build relationships, identify business needs, monitor progress, and adapt to changes

Responsibilities

  • Ensure work areas are secured, cleaned per policies/procedures; instruct on safety standards; adjust fixtures/shelving; keep floors clean/dry
  • Track, direct, manage merchandise flow: coordinate distribution from trucks to Layout Center, assist buyers/suppliers in setup/review, enter tracking info into systems, organize/count/document merchandise for transport
  • Enforce confidentiality: review sign-in sheets, verify supplier ID/approval, prohibit items, scan badges on exit
  • Supervise associates: write performance evaluations, train staff, conduct interviews/hiring recommendations, monitor behavior/performance, recommend improvements, manage schedules/time off, create reports, identify issues
  • Support vendors/customers: establish contracts with SLAs, maintain repair/modification files, communicate standards, ensure compliance, evaluate/report performance
  • Manage budget: gather/trend data, validate spending, review invoicing, develop reports, approve expenditures, handle warranties/lease compliance
  • Provide expert advice/guidance, align efforts to business needs, build commitment to best practices
  • Implement business solutions: build partnerships, identify needs, execute processes, monitor results, capitalize on improvements, adapt to changes
  • Model compliance with policies/procedures, support mission/values/ethics, use Open Door Policy, demonstrate respect for individuals, drive positive experiences, embrace diversity
