Senior Accountant

Interwell Health is a kidney care management company dedicated to reimagining healthcare and helping patients live their best lives. We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team.

Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the end-to-end accounting of Accrued Liabilities and related Expenses, Revenue, and month-end close responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in month-end close processes, a strong understanding of internal controls, and demonstrated experience in process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to accrued liabilities, expenses, and journal entries.
  • Assist with the month-end close process, including accrued liabilities, expenses, cash reconciliations, and other ad hoc month-end close items.
  • Help define processes and procedures, including process improvement of existing documentation and processes.
  • Provide support for Interwell billing/revenue processes as needed.
  • Develop and monitor internal controls to minimize financial risk, identify opportunities, and collaborate with external auditors during audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting across key accounting transactions and processes (e.g., assets, liabilities, revenues, expenses).
  • Emphasis on ASC 606 revenue recognition accounting and month-end close tasks (cash accounting, sales tax, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (SAP, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, and Blackline preferred).
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP and IFRS.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Big 4 Audit Experience.
  • Experience in accounting for software and/or healthcare.

Certifications and Licensure Requirements

  • Certified Public Accounting (CPA) License - preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Travel Requirements

  • Less than 10% travel. Travel may be required a few days per year for onsite meetings as needed.
