The Task At Hand
The Senior Accountant reports to the Assistant Controller and is responsible for the accuracy of the general ledger through various journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and analysis.
In This Role, You Will
- Prepare monthly analysis and accrual entries for the company’s trade spend activity.
- Create journal entries for prepaids, fixed assets, and various other monthly entries.
- Review P&L for trending balances, analyze, and identify any reclassing entries needed.
- Prepare accurate Account Reconciliations with proper supporting documentation.
- Work cross-functionally with teams like Marketing and Sales to ensure appropriate accruals each month.
- Maintain a database of company contracts with pertinent information.
- Facilitate New Vendor Set Up.
- Participate in month-end close, annual audits, and tax filings.
- Ensure procedures are meeting internal controls.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external business partners.
- Initiate process improvements to drive efficiency within the department.
- Assist with any other tasks assigned by the Assistant Controller.
In This Role, You’ll Bring With You
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in auditing or an accounting department.
- Prior CPG experience and strong experience in accounting for trade spend.
- A CPA is a plus, but not required.
- A sense of self-motivation, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to make independent decisions aligned with the function of the role, department goals, and company processes.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prior professional experience gathering, processing, interpreting, and telling a story with data.
- Prior experience with account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Slack, and other professional platforms.
- Genuine passion for improving childhood nutrition for a healthier and happier planet.
- Previous exposure to cross-functional work between Sustainability and Finance is preferred.

Travel
- Up to 10% travel: This role is remote, but occasional company or department meetings may require travel.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 (Actual salary will consider skills, qualifications, experience, and location).
- Type: Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt.
- Additional Compensation: Certain positions may be eligible for bonuses, stipends, equity, and role-specific perks.
