Requirements
Candidates should possess appropriate tertiary qualifications in Cybersecurity, IT, or a related field such as Computer Science or Information Security, and demonstrate hands-on expertise in Microsoft Security Solutions including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Defender for Office 365, and Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM/SOAR), along with experience with CrowdStrike Falcon Endpoint Protection and Identity & Access Management (IAM) tools like Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) and CyberArk. Strong understanding of security frameworks such as ASD Essential 8, NIST, CIS Controls, and MITRE ATT&CK is required, as well as experience in vulnerability management, network and cloud security, and security solutions implementation. Relevant industry certifications such as Microsoft Security Certifications, CrowdStrike Falcon Certification, SIEM/SOAR Certifications, CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent), and ISC2 CC are preferred.
Responsibilities
As a Security Operations Engineer, you will provide 2nd-level technical support for Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, and CrowdStrike within defined service level agreements, monitor and investigate security incidents using Microsoft Sentinel SIEM, Defender for Endpoint, and CrowdStrike EDR/XDR, and adhere to Incident Response, Threat Management, Security Operations, Problem, and Change Management processes aligned with ITIL and security frameworks. You will proactively hunt for threats and perform security investigations by analyzing logs, alerts, and endpoint telemetry data, and configure, manage, and fine-tune security tools to ensure optimal performance and effectiveness.
