Valid Driver's License

Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work night shift hours

Responsibilities

Patrol hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intruders
Monitor conduct of visitors on hospital premises and confront unauthorized persons for questioning as needed
Report safety and/or fire hazards or security violations
Respond to inquiries for advice or assistance from hospital personnel, students, and visitors
Provide restraints for psychiatric patients as needed
Escort personnel to parking lots and hospital buildings as requested
Participate in investigations; maintain records and prepare incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities
Secure and/or unlock offices and facilities as required; secure patient valuables or lost and found articles and maintain log of items received
Control parking and traffic flow; enforce parking regulations
Respond to all emergency codes and security requests (e.g., Staff Assist, Security Alert, Fire alarms); respond to CARE Flight operations as needed
Mentor security interns in the role of security
Serve as a liaison to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
