Requirements

Candidates must possess a Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited institution, a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience designing highway/roadway projects including 5 years of managing design teams, and registration as a Professional Civil or Structural Engineer, with Illinois PE registration preferred. Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoTURN, and other Bentley and other vendor transportation related software packages is preferred, along with knowledge of applicable codes and standards, and membership in one professional organization. Experience with business development and marketing of clients is required.

Responsibilities

As a Transportation Section Manager, the individual will supervise and perform roadway and highway design, assign or assume Project Manager roles, manage the quality, schedule, and budget of transportation projects, maintain and develop client relationships, prepare the technical portion of proposals, grow the backlog of Milhouse transportation work, ensure group profitability, and assure that Quality Assurance/Quality Control is being performed on every project. They will also coach/mentor and develop staff, create and enforce project quality plans, and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
