Requirements

Candidates should possess experience with food service, preferably in the hotel industry, and a strong preference for housekeeping experience. They must have good verbal communication skills, excellent customer service abilities, a detail-oriented approach, and the ability to work independently with strong time management skills. Furthermore, candidates are required to hold a STCW Basic Safety Training certificate, STCW Crowd Management certificate, STCW Maritime Security Awareness certificate, a US Passport, and First Aid/CPR/AED certification, as well as Alcohol Server Training (OLCC).

Responsibilities

The Seasonal Steward is responsible for cleaning assigned guest cabins and bathrooms, setting up and clearing tables for guest meals, taking meal orders and serving meals, and adhering to all CDC Vessel Sanitation Program & Health Canada requirements. They will also scrape and wash dishes, pots, and pans, clean counter tops and sinks, assist in food preparation, participate in on-board safety training, comply with all relevant regulations, maintain familiarity with the company’s Safety Management System, and may relieve the bartender or serve as a member of the emergency team.
