Requirements

Licensed pharmacist eligible to practice in the state(s) worked
Ability to travel throughout the district to fill pharmacist shifts
Flexibility for scheduling and business needs
Relevant clinical and technical skills, including company-required trainings and CMEs
Ability to maintain skills as the industry evolves and seek opportunities to expand knowledge
Understanding and compliance with federal/state laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS Health policies/procedures
Certification/ability to deliver immunizations, testing, and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) where permissible

Responsibilities

Live CVS purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC)
Oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails
Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, genuine care, coaching the pharmacy team, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and guiding the team on best practices, with focus on cold chain products
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care (e.g., testing, prescribing)
Empower the pharmacy team to provide holistic care at every step in the patient care journey
