Requirements

Strong understanding of molecular biology principles and techniques
Excellent laboratory skills and experience with hands-on experimentation
Extensive experience in DNA synthesis, assembly, and manipulation methods
Broad experience with DNA cloning and amplification methods
Experience with bacterial cell culture and plasmid biology
Strong background in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) library preparation methods and sequencing technologies
Proficient in bioinformatics and bioinformatics tools, including data analysis

Responsibilities

Lead molecular biology research projects focused on DNA synthesis, assembly, cloning, scale-up, sequencing, and characterization
Independently design and execute experiments and analyze resulting data
Move projects forward efficiently, manage time and resources effectively, and prioritize tasks according to company goals
Document and communicate experimental results clearly and concisely
Discuss experimental results with team members and stakeholders
Work collaboratively with scientists and bioinformaticians
Coordinate with internal Twist teams (product management, manufacturing, QC/QA) on cross-functional projects
Solicit technical input, participate in scientific discussions, and contribute new ideas
Be helpful, collaborative, and proactive in contributing to the team’s success
Stay up-to-date with new developments, companies, and technologies in the field
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of all aspects of your work, including related details
