Requirements
- Strong understanding of molecular biology principles and techniques
- Excellent laboratory skills and experience with hands-on experimentation
- Extensive experience in DNA synthesis, assembly, and manipulation methods
- Broad experience with DNA cloning and amplification methods
- Experience with bacterial cell culture and plasmid biology
- Strong background in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) library preparation methods and sequencing technologies
- Proficient in bioinformatics and bioinformatics tools, including data analysis
Responsibilities
- Lead molecular biology research projects focused on DNA synthesis, assembly, cloning, scale-up, sequencing, and characterization
- Independently design and execute experiments and analyze resulting data
- Move projects forward efficiently, manage time and resources effectively, and prioritize tasks according to company goals
- Document and communicate experimental results clearly and concisely
- Discuss experimental results with team members and stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with scientists and bioinformaticians
- Coordinate with internal Twist teams (product management, manufacturing, QC/QA) on cross-functional projects
- Solicit technical input, participate in scientific discussions, and contribute new ideas
- Be helpful, collaborative, and proactive in contributing to the team’s success
- Stay up-to-date with new developments, companies, and technologies in the field
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of all aspects of your work, including related details
