Requirements

  • Must meet one of the following: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, behavioral health, or a related human services field; Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field with two years of related behavioral health experience; Any four-year combination of higher education and two years of qualifying experience; Associate’s degree in applied science in behavioral health support; Four years of full-time qualifying experience in the field (qualifying experience includes providing one-on-one or group services focused on recovery/resiliency, teaching coping skills, supporting school/community/employment functioning, and implementing treatment plan objectives)
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Current auto insurance
  • Successful completion of background checks (criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, fingerprint)
  • Knowledge of case management, rehabilitation methods, and treatment planning in behavioral health
  • Understanding of challenges faced by individuals with behavioral health conditions
  • Familiarity with ethical, legal, and procedural standards in behavioral health
  • Strong relationship-building skills with youth, families, schools, and providers
  • Effective communication skills, including documentation and verbal de-escalation
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and coordinate services across agencies
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and office software
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to high-quality, client-centered care
  • Ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations and maintain professionalism

Responsibilities

  • Deliver behavioral health interventions aligned with individualized treatment goals in school-based settings
  • Support students in developing coping strategies, social-emotional skills, and daily life functioning
  • Coordinate care with schools, families, community partners, and other service providers
  • Manage a caseload, ensuring timely documentation and person-centered service delivery
  • Provide crisis intervention and follow-up, including outreach for missed appointments
  • Conduct home visits and community outreach to support youth and family engagement
  • Participate in quality assurance, data collection, and compliance activities
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, supervision, and performance evaluations
  • Adapt to evolving student needs and contribute to program goals with flexibility and collaboration
