Requirements

Ability to understand and follow oral instructions
Manual dexterity required for cleaning equipment
Willing and able to perform heavy manual work continuously over an extended period of time
Willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds
Willing and able to work in a manufacturing environment requiring use of personal protective equipment (steel-toed work boots, ear plugs, hair net, hard hat, beard net if applicable, smock)

Responsibilities

Pick up meat scraps and bones and dispose of in offal trailer
Pick up loose trash and dispose of in garbage truck
Clean equipment and plant with high pressure hoses and cleaning chemicals
Perform other duties as assigned
Act as key trainer for on-the-job training of new team members
Maintain and promote team member interest in safety
Help supervisors and leads with safety awareness, including informing supervisors of unsafe practices observed
Promote company culture of respect for all team members at all times and notify the plant manager when observing conduct that violates this culture or company policies
Clean the plant and equipment in accordance with Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP’s)
