Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, biomolecular, industrial) or life sciences (chemistry, biology, environmental science) preferred
  • 5 years of sales management experience in the water treatment/chemical industry required, including experience with wastewater treatment, boilers, and cooling towers
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle driving record
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and job-specific software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to read, write, and speak English

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual strategic planning process, including identification of key product growth strategies in partnership with the Tech Center, SWOT analysis of the regional territory, identification of emerging markets and growth opportunities, and territory forecasting and goal setting for individual account representatives
  • Conduct semi-annual and year-end reviews to measure progress against the business plan
  • Manage relationships with large corporate organizations to ensure contract compliance and support business expansion
  • Engage corporate resources (Purchasing, Operations, Tech Center) to create competitive advantages in pricing and product offerings
  • Review contracts and terms in collaboration with Legal and align with manufacturer agreements
  • Maximize sales force effectiveness through coaching, performance feedback, and skill development
  • Facilitate individual business plans for each representative, including time and territory management and account strategies
  • Identify training needs and provide ongoing mentorship by traveling with representatives
  • Oversee performance appraisals and contribute to hiring decisions
  • Provide sales support staff with timely market insights
  • Attend industry conferences and trade shows to strengthen market presence
  • Entertain customers and prospects within company guidelines to build relationships
