Position Overview

At Baxter, our mission is to save and sustain lives. As a Sales Consultant for Capital Equipment, you will be instrumental in selling our full operation room capital equipment product line portfolio. Your role involves driving profitable growth, increasing new sales within your territory, and educating customers on our product solutions to ensure their success. You will work from your home office, focusing on developing and growing sales of surgical capital equipment, connected solutions, and other core product categories.

Home Base & Territory

  • Home Base: Candidates should reside in either the 5 boroughs or on Long Island, New York.
  • Territory: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, and Long Island.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 60% travel, including overnight travel.

Your Role at Baxter

  • Apply your track record of successful sales and profitable growth to increase new sales within the territory.
  • Prepare and continually refine a sales plan and forecast for specific target market opportunities.
  • Coordinate with technical and applications support resources as needed to facilitate sales.
  • Sell repair contracts where appropriate.
  • Develop and grow sales of surgical capital equipment and connected solutions, along with other core product categories throughout your territory.
  • Utilize expert knowledge of customer business and value drivers to educate customers on product solution differentiators.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategic sales of capital products within all surgical solutions’ product categories (lights, booms, surgical tables, operating room integration, and partnership sales) within your given territory.
  • Partner with clinical consultants, dedicated product specialists, construction solution architects, corporate and strategic accounts, and product management to offer customers comprehensive end-to-end solutions, including large integrated health system customers (IDNs).
  • Execute the full sales cycle, including opportunity prioritization, accurate forecasting, qualification of large, sophisticated sales, preparation for customer presentations, professional follow-up, and goal attainment.
  • Use data to identify key opportunities, requiring keen analytical proficiencies.
  • Implement consultative selling, uncovering unmet needs and encouraging a solution-driven environment.
  • Utilize marketing communications to build efficient promotional, advertising, and trade show activity to improve company and product visibility.
  • Demonstrate year-over-year backlog growth by uncovering greenfield opportunities and high-dollar renovations within your assigned territory.
  • Ensure that our Surgical Solutions’ product portfolio is specified at all early stages to drive sales orders.
