Requirements
- Current role as Staff or District Support Pharmacist at CVS Health
- Passion for transforming health care and demonstrating genuine care for patients
- Ability to act as a role model, mentor, and guide for the pharmacy team
- Commitment to completing a self-paced, collaborative training roadmap (typically 3-6 months) with virtual and hands-on learning
- Compliance with all legal, regulatory guidelines, and workplace policies
- Skills in safe prescription dispensing, patient counseling, and immunizing practices
- Prior leadership experience (inside or outside CVS Health) influencing program length
Responsibilities
- Model CVS Health values and purpose while delivering patient care on the bench, including quarterbacking the team and providing meaningful counseling
- Support the Pharmacy Manager by exhibiting best practices and abiding by all guidelines
- Take on increasing accountability for pharmacy management, oversight, and operations as readiness increases
- Oversee the pharmacy as proxy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching team members, following up on performance, and providing feedback to the Pharmacy Manager
- Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
- Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing adherence to workflow procedures and safety guardrails
- Contribute to positive patient experiences through empathy, compassionate care, collaboration with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize
- Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching best practices, with focus on cold chain products
