Responsibilities
- Product development through the entire product life cycle, from program kick-off to start of production
- Create and manage CAD designs of individual components and the overall BOM (Bill of Materials) structure
- Build and analyze Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models of Node™-based vehicle structures, including validation using hand calculations and optimization
- Present design summaries and reports at meetings and to other engineers or external parties
- Develop and refine new technical solutions for automotive structures to support external customer programs and joint development efforts
- Act as a technical liaison between Divergent and its customers, ensuring product requirements are concurred, tracked, and achieved
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including system-level DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and DVP (Design Verification Plan)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand manufacturing/design capabilities and limitations
- Ensure proposed design changes can be efficiently produced and assembled
