Requirements

Ability to safely load waste, carry bags and containers to the vehicle for disposal
Capability to direct the Driver from the ground to maneuver the vehicle
Knowledge of operating packing mechanism, levers, and handles to activate lifting and loading
Ability to perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues
Adherence to safety policies, procedures, and standards, including spill cleanup
Continuous monitoring of waste for unacceptable materials
Courteous interaction with customers, dispatchers, and others
Maintenance of vehicle cleanliness, packer blade, truck body, hopper, and work areas
Adherence to productivity standards for timely route servicing

Responsibilities

Ride on the vehicle to assist the Driver while servicing customers on a designated residential route
Operate packing mechanism and various levers/handles to activate lifting and loading
Clean waste from packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip; spray and clean hopper/truck if applicable
Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle per company policy; report safety issues
Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely, professional route servicing
Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste
Clean area around accidental waste spills, adhering to safety standards/policies
Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for efficient customer servicing
Follow all required safety policies and procedures
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
