Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • At least ten years of water/wastewater project experience
  • New York PE License required
  • Experience with the New York Department of Environment and/or the Department of Design and Construction (preferred)
  • Trench and safety training; OSHA 30 Hour training (a plus)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience with construction administration and safety protocols

Responsibilities

  • Provide and manage day-to-day construction oversight/Resident Engineering efforts on complex water and wastewater infrastructure and facilities
  • Manage CM inspection staff and the delivery of daily inspection reports
  • Manage the Contractor payment process and recommend appropriate adjustments
  • Responsible for overall site safety, permit condition compliance, and coordination with other stakeholders
  • Generate project correspondence, including daily site inspections and reports
  • Use effective oral and written communication skills to lead progress meetings
  • Collaborate amongst client, contractor(s), design engineers, and third-party stakeholders
  • Collaborate with a local project delivery team and national team of technical experts
  • Mentor, supervise, and provide direction for less experienced staff
  • Review design and bidding documents for completeness, constructability, and biddability
  • Perform construction administration, schedule analyses, and change order development
