Position Overview
Dane Street, a leading Independent Review Organization (IRO) and national provider of Utilization Review (UR) services, is expanding its physician panel. We are seeking Board-Certified Orthopedic Spine Surgeons with an active New York medical license to perform independent medical reviews on a flexible, remote basis. This is a non-clinical, contract opportunity ideal for physicians interested in supplemental income and non-traditional work, while continuing their active clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical necessity determinations on treatment requests.
- Review appealed cases and render objective, evidence-based opinions.
- Complete all reviews using Dane Street’s secure and user-friendly online portal.
- Note: This is an advisory-only role with no direct patient care or treatment involved.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted New York Medical License.
- Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery (subspecialty in Spine preferred).
- Active clinical practice.
- Strong written communication and analytical skills.
