Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and have 5 or more years of technical experience, including expertise in using mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform complex data into advanced analytic solutions. Experience with moderately complex to complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors, developing and maintaining structured and unstructured data sets, and creating reports, projections, models, and presentations is essential. A Master's degree and 6+ years of technical experience are preferred. Candidates must also have a high-speed DSL or cable modem (25mbps download/10mbps upload minimum) for a home office, with satellite and wireless internet not permitted. A dedicated, interruption-free space is required to protect member PHI/HIPAA information. Occasional travel for training or meetings may be necessary.

Responsibilities

The Research Scientist will design and conduct rigorous research studies to evaluate clinical interventions and health outcomes, develop hypotheses, and perform statistical testing using large-scale healthcare datasets. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improving member health, building and maintaining analytical models using Python, SQL, and SAS, and translating complex findings into actionable insights for stakeholders. The role also involves staying current with emerging trends in healthcare research, data science, and population health, contributing to publications and presentations, and making decisions on technical approaches for project components.
