Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in the analytics industry and at least 3 years of demonstrated healthcare analytics experience within the Medicaid/Medicare space. Advanced knowledge of data science principles, techniques such as inferential statistics, machine learning, algorithms, data modeling, statistical significance testing, and forecasting is required. A strong understanding of identifying appropriate data science methods based on existing data and research questions, evaluation research, longitudinal trending, and population monitoring is also necessary. Proficiency in effectively communicating data verbally and visually to diverse audiences and advanced knowledge of data-appropriate visualization techniques are essential.
The Data Scientist will apply rigorous data science principles to continuous quality improvement and evaluation of HEDIS and Population Health interventions, synthesizing data analytics into actionable stories for performance improvement. They will lead data science infrastructure development and automation using SQL, Python, Excel, R, and Power BI, and develop custom analytics for regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include leading end-to-end evaluation research for population health interventions, developing fact/dimensional data models in Power BI, and continuously monitoring HEDIS and population health performance metrics. The role involves leading KPI design, custom algorithms, machine learning, and continuous quality improvement techniques, as well as managing and communicating cross-functional data science infrastructure projects. Additionally, the Data Scientist will conduct in-depth program evaluation analytics, generate custom data insights for senior leadership and regulatory reporting, and develop iterative Power BI solutions for staff and leadership. They will transform manual data intake and reporting into automated processes, effectively communicate data insights to stakeholders, and train colleagues in advanced data science principles and Power BI solutions.
