Candidates should possess a minimum of a high school diploma, with a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience being a plus. They should have at least 5 years of experience in truss and/or wall panel design, specifically focusing on roof and floor systems. Proficiency in using Mitek software for design and troubleshooting is preferred, and a strong knowledge of floor and roof systems, including the ability to spec out beams and hangars, is required.
As a Truss/Wall Panel Designer, the individual will be responsible for designing metal plate-connected wood trusses and wall panels with a focus on quality and accuracy, optimizing designs for cost efficiency and structural integrity, reviewing orders and layouts to ensure correctness, partnering with sales and production teams for support and troubleshooting, and continuously enhancing design skills to improve processes. They will also contribute to the improvement of design processes and deliver top-quality work.
