Requirements

Strong expertise in regulatory compliance, particularly in payments services and money remittance in SEA (Singapore or Malaysia)
Experience in a second line of defense (2LOD) role within Legal, Risk & Compliance (LRC)
Ability to deliver regulatory engagement strategy and manage compliance programs
Skills in maintaining licensing responsibilities, coordinating with internal/external parties, and interfacing with regulators
Proficiency in communicating regulatory requirements, cross-functional collaboration, process implementation, report filing, and license renewals
Capability to analyze products/services for regulatory compliance and ensure 2LOD controls are fit for purpose
Experience guiding first-line business on customer-facing and internal processes/product features
Founder-like energy, strong role-related expertise, sharp thinking, good judgment, curiosity, humility, collaboration, and ability to "get stuff done" end-to-end
Motivation by mission, operating principles, use of AI for problem-solving, and readiness for complex, high-visibility problems

Responsibilities

Deliver the regulatory engagement strategy for Airwallex focusing on the SEA region
Manage existing payment services and money remittance regulatory compliance program
Maintain licensing responsibilities and coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure compliance
Communicate regulatory requirements to stakeholders
Collaborate cross-functionally to productize compliant solutions and offerings
Implement and execute compliance processes
File all requisite regulatory reports
Handle renewals of registrations and licenses
Interface with regulators as needed
Analyze new and existing products/services to ensure 2LOD controls comply with regulatory obligations
Guide the first-line business to mature customer-facing and internal back-office processes and product features
Support Airwallex Group’s expansion by managing regulatory compliance in SEA
