Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) - active license in the state of practice from Board of Nursing (Upon Hire)
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Preferred: 1-3 years of work experience
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily nursing tasks within the radiology department
- Start IVs
- Review Planet Heart results with patients and provide education
- Assist with medication during Echo cardiograms
- Assist with biopsies and other invasive procedures
- Deliver nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends
- Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating nursing care plans, coordinating with healthcare providers, and supporting patients and families
- Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting conditions, conferring with family and friends, and establishing diagnoses, objectives, and interventions
- Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals, instructing patients, families, and friends on conditions, medications, and self-care, and providing resources
- Evaluate patient care by adhering to standards, measuring outcomes, reviewing records, noting changes, and modifying care plans
- Maintain safe patient care environment by following infection-control policies, medication procedures, controlled substance regulations, and organizational/legal standards
- Document patient care services in patient and department records
- Maintain patient care equipment by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and arranging repairs
- Keep patient care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, ordering, verifying receipt, and stocking items
- Maintain competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership
