Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
One to two years of nursing experience preferred
Bi-lingual experience preferred but not required
Licensed as RN/LPN to practice in the state of Iowa
Must obtain CPR certification within 3 months of hire date

Responsibilities

Provides medical support to assigned patients by utilizing the nursing process and meeting established standards within the clinic
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide service/care appropriate to the age of the patients served
Initiates appropriate patient/family education following assessment of learning and discharge needs (RN)
Documents nursing interventions and patient/family response accurately, legibly, and in compliance with clinic policies (RN)
Promotes and maintains a safe and calm environment for complex patients by ensuring appropriate supplies, equipment, and necessary services
Assists in making clinical decisions based on scientific principles, systematic approach, and experience (RN)
Assists in identifying actual and potential risks to patients and/or families and initiates appropriate action to minimize risk
Administers medications and treatments/procedures as directed and appropriate for the patient’s medical care, in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team
Appropriately delegates tasks/procedures to other team members who are prepared/qualified to perform (RN)
Contributes to the learning experience of students and staff by modeling competent nursing practice (RN)
Utilizes the nursing process to assist the physician in providing patient care (LPN)
Demonstrates ability to identify physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of the patient and appropriately reports to the physician (LPN)
Utilizes internal and community resources in planning care and initiating referrals (LPN)
Works frequently with computer software systems
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
