Registered Nurse (RN) - active license in the state of practice from Board of Nursing upon hire
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (72hrs/2wks, every other weekend, every 3rd holiday, occasional call)

Responsibilities

Delivers nursing care by developing nursing diagnosis, establishing care objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends
Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating nursing care plan to health care team, coordinating with providers, and supporting patients/families
Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting condition/status/factors, conferring with family/friends, and defining diagnosis/objectives/interventions/schedules
Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing goals, instructing patients/families/friends on condition/medications/self-care, answering questions, and providing resources
Evaluates patient care by adhering to standards, measuring outcomes, reviewing records, noting changes, re-evaluating objectives, and modifying plans
Maintains safe patient care environment by following infection-control, medication administration/storage, controlled substance regulations, organization standards/policies, and legal regulations; alerting others to concerns
Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records
Maintains patient care equipment by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
Keeps patient care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, ordering/expediting/verifying/stocking items
Maintains competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership
